Rocktoberfest 2026: RRGCC's Premier Climbing Festival Guide

Rocktoberfest 2026 marks the Red River Gorge Climbers' Coalition's premier annual celebration, bringing together climbers from across the country. Your basecamp provides luxury accommodations just minutes from all festival activities.
Festival Dates and Tickets
Updated August 10, 2026. Our best read is Thursday, October 8 through Sunday, October 11, 2026, at Land of the Arches Campground in Campton, KY. That is our inference, not an RRGCC announcement — and here is exactly how we got there, so you can judge it yourself.
The RRGCC has not yet published 2026 festival dates as text on rrgcc.org/rocktoberfest. Two things they have published point the same direction. First, their own Eventbrite listing for festival volunteers runs Wednesday, October 7 through Sunday, October 11 — volunteers traditionally arrive a day early to set up. Second, Rocktoberfest runs Thursday through Sunday every year; the 2025 edition was October 9–12, which was a Thursday through a Sunday. The Thursday-to-Sunday window inside that volunteer bracket is October 8–11.
One trap worth naming, because we nearly fell into it: October 9–12 was last year. In 2026 those same dates land on a Friday through a Monday, which is not a pattern this festival has ever used. If you see 2026 dates repeated from 2025, that is probably why.
Tickets go on sale the first week of September 2026. Confirm everything at rrgcc.org/rocktoberfest — that is the source of truth, not this page. We will update here within hours of the official announcement, and we will say plainly if we got it wrong.
Festival Events
The festival features guided climbs, clinics taught by professional athletes, gear demos, vendor booths, raffles, live music, food trucks, a movie night, and environmental education — all raising money for the RRGCC's land acquisition and stewardship work.
Featured Climbing Areas
Festival guides lead trips to classic areas including Muir Valley, PMRP, and the Northern Gorge. Many featured routes are accessible via short walks from your basecamp, allowing independent exploration.
Vendor Village and Gear Demos
Major climbing brands showcase new gear at the vendor village. Your cabin's storage space accommodates festival purchases, while the full kitchen handles meal prep between events.
Evening Programs
Nightly presentations feature climbing legends, conservation updates, and film screenings. Return to your quiet basecamp after events for restful sleep away from crowded campgrounds.
